| This piece is a hollow form turned from Chinese Elm Burl. The dark spots on the top are the remains of small branches the tree attempted to grow. Although not as closely spaced as other species of burls, these small cross-sections of those branches provide a striking color contrast. The wood was very lumpy so holes were created during the turning process.
